Cristex Showcases Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Capabilities at BAE Systems Supply Chain Event
Cristex, a leading UK supplier of composite reinforcements and precision manufacturing services, participated in Day 1 of the BAE Systems Supply Chain Event, presenting its latest developments across Cristex Advanced Materials (CAM) and CCK Aerospace.
The event brought together engineering, procurement, and manufacturing specialists from across the aerospace sector, providing a strong platform for Cristex to demonstrate how its material technologies and production solutions support the next generation of aerospace programmes.
Throughout the event, Cristex highlighted its capability to support the complete composite workflow. CAM showcased a selection of high-performance reinforcements engineered for dimensional stability, fibre alignment accuracy, and repeatability across production batches. Significant interest was received in CAM’s ceramic fabric technologies and advanced reinforcements, which are designed to meet the stringent performance and traceability requirements of aerospace applications.
“There was a clear focus on performance reliability and material control,” said Simon, representing Cristex Advanced Materials. “Many of the engineers we spoke with wanted to understand the architecture behind our reinforcements and the measures we take to ensure batch-to-batch consistency. It was a valuable opportunity to discuss the technical depth behind our material systems.”
CCK Aerospace presented its precision cutting and kitting capabilities, with particular focus on its ISO 8 cleanroom environment, which supports the handling of sensitive materials under controlled conditions. The division also outlined its progress toward AS9100 accreditation, further strengthening its commitment to aerospace quality systems and process assurance.
Technical discussions centred on automated cutting to improve dimensional accuracy and material utilisation, fully traceable kitting solutions aligned with lean manufacturing principles, and the importance of scalable, repeatable processes in ensuring production reliability.
“The conversations were highly process-driven,” said Karl, representing CCK Aerospace. “Teams were especially interested in how our ISO 8 cleanroom operation and our work toward AS 9100 reinforce confidence in both process control and product quality. Once we walked through our cutting parameters and kitting controls, the value was very clear.”
Cristex’s combined offering, integrating advanced reinforcement technologies with controlled, compliant, and quality-focused manufacturing processes positions the company as a comprehensive partner for aerospace manufacturers seeking improved performance, traceability, and operational efficiency.
Events like the BAE Systems Supply Chain Day play a vital role in strengthening collaboration between OEMs and the supplier community. For Cristex, they provide an invaluable opportunity to share our expertise, understand emerging programme requirements, and reinforce our commitment to supporting the future of UK aerospace manufacturing.
Our objective remains clear, to support aerospace partners with the materials, processes, and technical capability needed for the next generation of programmes.
